The Lions Club is a global organization focused on serving the local community. The Mesa Thunderbird Lions Club was established in 1963. We strive to give sight, serve the youth, and actively participate in making our community a better place. Our Lions Club also sponsors a youth LEO Club at Perry High School.
We are Proud Supporters of:
- Recycling used eyeglasses for use in third world countries
- Resurrection Street Ministries Food Bank
- Helen’s Hope Chest serving Foster Families
- Camp Tatiyee a summer camp for the special needs community
- AZ Lions Vision and Hearing Foundation
- Jose’s Closet serving Foster Families
- Hope Women’s Center serving women and teens in crisis
- Recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans for eye exam/glasses payment for needy students
Accepting Glasses Donations
Did you know? Any new or gently used pair of eyeglasses (including sunglasses) can be recycled into a new pair of glasses for someone in need! We accept used eyeglasses to be recycled for individuals in third world countries.
One of our primary missions as the Mesa Thunderbird Lions Club is to use the Spot Machine to visually screen school aged students. We use money from our recycling endeavors to pay for eye exams/glasses for needy students.
What Do Lions Do?
We Serve
…in communities around the world.
…by returning 100% of our earnings back to neighboring communities.
…to make the world a better place, one Lion, one community at a time.
